Girls Who Plan

In honor of every girl around the world who plans to make a difference in her community, YEP! created the “Girls Who Plan” program, in collaboration with the Women & Planning Division of the American Planning Association.

The program focuses on inspiring girls to be strong leaders and to advocate for change in their communities. This initiative strives to focus on closing the gap for women entering the planning field, and gives young female students an opportunity to learn about and consider urban planning as a profession. We have proudly partnered with girl-focused organizations, such as Girls, Inc and the Girl Scouts of America, among others, to uplift and empower future girls in urban planning!

We are proud to say that this program was the recipient of the 2019, APA Divisions Council Award for Educational Excellence!

Check out our Girl Scout City Planning Patch Program and our Ava Tanner The City Planner children’s book for more inspiration!

When we finally unleash the power of women and girls, we’ll create opportunities, unlike anything we’ve ever seen. When women and girls are equal, everyone is greater.
